Availability
Please email me to check availability. If I can offer you a space I will email you a pre-counselling assessment form to complete and return by email. During this process we can also arrange a initial free audio Zoom call.
Assessment Process
It is really important that we check that I am the right counsellor for you.
Pre-Counselling Assessment Forms
The pre-assessment form asks specific questions about your mental health history and the reasons you are seeking counselling at this time. It is private and confidential and does not have your name on it.
Initial Free Audio Zoom Call
I offer a free brief 15-20 minute audio Zoom call. This call is to clarify some of your answers from your completed pre-assessment form to help us decide whether booking an assessment with me is the right next step for you. You can also ask me practical questions and I can let you know the next steps in the process.
Forms to complete and email back before the full assessment
I will ask you to complete, sign and return via email the following documents before your full initial consultation / assessment.
1. Client Registration Form
2. Privacy policy
3. Service agreement couples / Service agreement Individual
Full Consultation / Assessment
The consultation is for the same time as a session. This is a mutual assessment for all parties to consider whether I am the right counsellor for you and your difficulty. It is important that you feel comfortable, understood and feel safe to be yourself.
Cost
Session fee for individuals and the initial consultation £60.
Session fee for couples and the initial consultation £80.
Session fee for individual sessions as part of couple work £60.
Sessions are 50 minutes.
When counselling is not suitable
Counselling may not be suitable for various reasons. I may suggest more specialist support or signpost another service that may be more suitable for you.
Location
My home therapy clinic is based in the village of Cuckfield, near Haywards Heath, Sussex.
Office hours
I offer weekly in-person appointments on Tuesday and Thursday from (9am - 3pm) and Friday (9am-10am) and (1pm - 3pm).
I usually respond to emails within 24-hours. I may take longer to respond to email enquiries outside of my main working times, or if I am on leave. If I am on leave I will have an out-of-office response.
Structure of sessions
Sessions are a weekly commitment at the same day and time each week, with planned breaks such as holidays.
Counselling can be short (brief), medium to long-term and we can discuss what you might need in the assessment and review as we go.
Payments
Payments can be made by BACS. I will invoice weekly and ask that the funds are cleared in the account before each session
Cancellations
For cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, I do charge the full appointment fee.
Accessibility
The home therapy clinic has a small step and is the first room upon entering, it is a private and confidential setting, separate from the main house.
There is no waiting room so you need to arrive at the exact time of your appointment (not before) to avoid overlap and to ensure I am ready for your appointment.
There is no access to toilets for clients on site. The nearest public toilets are in the village car park (Broad Street car park RH17 5DS) less than 1 minute away, or there are plenty of cafes near by - for before or after sessions.
The home therapy clinic is within the village centre of Cuckfield, Haywards Heath, Sussex. There is free street parking and parking available in Broad Street carpark with a Mid-Sussex disc. The disc can be brought from a few shops in Cuckfield for a £1.
